If you ever wonder if you are addicted to something, an item you don't absolutely need in your life every day, just give it up and you'll find out in just a little while whether you're hooked or not.
Say, the way I'm finding out I'm addicted to caffeine. I was lucky enough to snag a couple Advils this morning to thwart the impending headache, but there is no getting around the general fact that it is only 3pm and it already feels like midnight. Little tiny cells in my body are shouting out, "We want caffeine! What did you do to us?" It was like I was their pusher, then I just folded up shop and called it a day.
And then this friendly reminder from the Sleep Disorder expert, Florence Cardinal, at about.com:
"Do you start your day with a cup of coffee? Do you drink several more cups during the day? Then you may be addicted to caffeine, the drug found in coffee."
Okay already! I'm an addict! I admit it! Stop yelling at me!
(Could be I was supposed to read the article before giving up caffeine.)
Now I know what Emily in our office felt like when she started the South Beach Diet.
Except that I don't want to kill anyone.
I just want to use them as a pillow.

Caffeine ROCKS.
Susie - And here I thought you were going to bag on me because both chocolate and decaf contain caffeine. Whew!
You know March is Caffeine Awareness Month. I heard this on KTLA news. But I have no idea what that means.
I'm addicted to:
Caffeine - Coffee
Caffeine - Diet Coke
Caffeine - Chocolate
American Idol
Project Runway
And I'm not giving up ANY of them. EVER. ;)
Drea - I looked it up and KTLA is absolutely right, March is Caffeine Awareness Month. But they seem to be the only ones who are worried. After searching for articles I could only come up with this article from The Soy Daily dated last year. In fact, the link for www.Caffeineawareness.org is no longer owned. Maybe they all fell asleep and didn't pay their bills. And anyone who would try to make you give up American Idol or Project Runway would surely be taking their life in their own hands.
